Wellness Island and The Counseling Center in Second Life®
Offering mental health resources, counseling, and a bridge to RL support since 2006

Wellness Island is Second Life®'s first sim completely devoted to mental health resources and information. We provide a relaxing, peaceful, PG environment with a library, community outreach center, auditorium, and more. All of our resources, workshops, and training classes are free of charge to SL residents who are seeking information about mental health and wellness.

You are welcome to join The Mental Health Network in-world for updates and news. We also sponsor the Medical Ethics and Grief and Loss Support groups, and co-sponsor Guiding Lights, which provides peer specialist training in SL.

Wellness Island is privately owned and 100% funded by proceeds from The Counseling Center and its owners, Avalon Birke and Martin Ichigo. We make no profit from our work, and are not funded by any outside organization. Resident donations help us stay online, offer trainings and workshops, and to develop free materials available at two locations and used by countless Groups and service providers in SL.

We maintain two locations for your convenience. Wellness Island is occasionally closed for renovation, special events, and workshops. Check Avalon Birke's profile for the latest Island status. Our Boncarus mainland location is always open.

Empathetic, caring, professional counseling can help you feel your best, uncover your true selves, and offer support as you find our way. Become who you are - allowing support and resources on your journey of self-discovery, goal setting, and achieving the life you want can help you find your way.

We offer counseling/coaching services by appointment to individuals and couples, as well as group therapy sessions on a variety of topics. Perhaps you are facing relationship issues, or exploring new aspects of yourself in a virtual environment. Utilizing a person-centered approach, we are here to help you on your journey to self-discovery and personal growth and acceptance. This is not a roleplay, but genuine talk therapy. Other helpful techniques that may be used are cognitive behavioral, psychoanalytic, and dialectical behavior therapies. It's about you, and meeting your unique needs.
